Brands I Love and Relaunch News

Big news! This is going to be the last post on this version of Julia Shutenko blog and next time I upload something you are going to be introduced to the new design and ... new name of the blog! There's been a lot of changes happening in my life and it's only natural that my blog has to catch up and change along. It's not going to be just an update of the current version - it's going to be a major step up which will hopefully make your experience on my website much more interactive and better. I am going to launch with the most important and personal post I've ever done and I honestly can't wait. And guys, I think all of that might happen in just 2 days! So roll on Sunday!

But for now I hope you enjoy this post from last week. London has so much to offer in terms of locations and stunning backdrops. We shot this while strolling through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park and even though I've been there many times before I have never noticed this beautiful building that is just asking to be photographed.

Also you have probably noticed how often I wear Sundry tops and dresses as well as Genetic jeans. What can I say, these two brands are killing it with perfection!

Have a nice Friday and join me on Sunday for a whole new journey!

Birkenstocks

After months of resisting the trend I have finally welcomed myself into the Birkenstock family. And I'm glad I did because my feet are so comfortable in them that I wish I converted earlier. So what was planned to be a shopping trip for some new simple sandals unexpectedly ended up with two pairs of his and hers Birks (Patrik actually started the whole thing). I felt brave and edgy and it's so funny how what was forever considered as the most unadventurous and unflattering shoe suddenly takes guts to wear. For a long time I said to people that no one managed to sell the Birks trend to me, none of the editorials, bloggers or models did it for me. Then something clicked inside my brain and my attitude changed. I love when this happens! It's nice to be more open minded. Now I'm just worried that I'll ruin their perfect whiteness so I'm taking great care while wearing them.

I'll show you many more ways that you can style Birkenstocks soon as I'm quite excited to see them in action myself. All my other shoes have respectfully made some space in the closet for the Birks and they are proudly waiting to be walked again.

Now go watch some football and have a great weekend! xx

Sunny Side With Marc Jacobs

Hi guys! It's Monday and I'm so excited about this upcoming week as I have a lot of projects to complete, a lot of nice posts to share with you and maybe even (I bet you didn't see this one coming)... get a baby kitten today! I won't tell you more about it right now except that after I am done with this post we are going to see one, so glue yourselves to my Instagram (@juliashutenko) to see what happens next. I am so excited that I couldn't sleep last night and woke up early and started counting down the hours until we get to see him.

But let's talk about this outfit now. I am very proud of this post as I feel like the weather, the location, the light, my hair and my outfit all decided to work perfectly in sync with each other to help us achieve this edgy, cool look. I am head over heels obsessed with these Marc Jacobs sunnies and even have a little treat for you if you scroll down to the end of this post. I feel like since I cut my hair everything looks better and I'm happy that these sunglasses 'came' to me after my transformation. I highly recommend that all of you purchase round sunnies as they always add a wow-factor to any outfit.

As for the rest of my look you know by now that I'm a big fan of Genetic denim and these jeans are  the latest addition to my growing Genetic collection. If you ever get a chance, do try a pair on to see just how soft and comfortable they feel.

Have a great week everyone!

Tassel Story

It's Monday again and I hope all of you had a nice weekend! I spent it visiting my best friend in Peterborough and it was perfect!

This was shot last week in Borough Market. It's a huge and busy food market from Wednesday to Saturday and seeing it so empty was very unusual. Pretty cool though! It was a hot day and I got a chance to wear these new Genetic shorts for the very first time. I've been obsessing over denim shorts for way too long and never managed to find a pair that suit me well. Don't even ask what was wrong with the other 200 pairs I tried on over the years... Genetic's somehow finally done the trick! Now all I need is one more pair that is a bit more ripped and boho to end my shorts pursuit. I've been also wearing this NOWSEEN.com jewellery pretty much non-stop and it makes me feel much cooler and wilder. Jewellery can do that to you, you know!

Also, I know that you are still waiting for my promised wedding reveal and trust me it's going to happen very soon. We still don't have pictures but as soon as they are done I'll show them to you. I am also very excited to let you know that we are working towards my blog RELAUNCH and it's going to happen this month! It's been a year of blogging for me and an amazing new website will be my birthday gift to the blog. So you can imagine that I'm quite busy lately. But this is what I want to be busy with for many years to come!

Hope you'll enjoy my tassel story xo
