Tassel Story

It's Monday again and I hope all of you had a nice weekend! I spent it visiting my best friend in Peterborough and it was perfect!

This was shot last week in Borough Market. It's a huge and busy food market from Wednesday to Saturday and seeing it so empty was very unusual. Pretty cool though! It was a hot day and I got a chance to wear these new Genetic shorts for the very first time. I've been obsessing over denim shorts for way too long and never managed to find a pair that suit me well. Don't even ask what was wrong with the other 200 pairs I tried on over the years... Genetic's somehow finally done the trick! Now all I need is one more pair that is a bit more ripped and boho to end my shorts pursuit. I've been also wearing this NOWSEEN.com jewellery pretty much non-stop and it makes me feel much cooler and wilder. Jewellery can do that to you, you know!

Also, I know that you are still waiting for my promised wedding reveal and trust me it's going to happen very soon. We still don't have pictures but as soon as they are done I'll show them to you. I am also very excited to let you know that we are working towards my blog RELAUNCH and it's going to happen this month! It's been a year of blogging for me and an amazing new website will be my birthday gift to the blog. So you can imagine that I'm quite busy lately. But this is what I want to be busy with for many years to come!

Hope you'll enjoy my tassel story xo

New Me with Toni&Guy

It's a new week and I've never been more excited to share with you the transformations I've been through over the weekend.

If you go back to this post you'll remember how I told you about my desire to change something about my hair, complaining about how bored I was of being the same and how often I used to change my looks in the past. So when Toni&Guy suggested I come to their Curzon Street salon and do whatever I want with my hair, obviously I didn't need to think twice. I was ready for this change!

I knew I wanted to cut my hair and leave my natural hair colour but wasn't sure which cut to go for. You see, growing up I never used to have long hair so once I grew it out a few years ago I've been content with the length for a very long time. Shorter hair was of no interest to me even though a lot of people around me were doing it and looking great. I was just happy with my long locks. And then it changed and I noticed that more and more often pictures that I saved onto my beauty mood board on Pinterest were of street style stars and models with edgier shorter hair styles. And that's how I reached the conclusion to go for a messy long bob and leave my (never intended) long ombre behind. I was also beyond excited to see myself with my natural hair colour. I first dyed it when I was 13 and to be honest with you never thought I'll have my real colour ever again. It's funny how your taste and preferences sometimes change over time.

The two hours I spent at Toni&Guy this Saturday went like a whirlwind of emotions and excitement. I brought some pictures of haircuts similar to what I wanted so I could show them to the stylist. The moment I saw Mattia (the stylist) I knew I'm was in good and fashionable hands. After I learned that he also works with models during London and Milan fashion weeks I had no doubts that I was going to love my transformation. He chopped off my hair so quickly that I had no time to start panicking (which I am so thankful to him for). And after the scariest moment was gone, step by step he created the best version of me I have ever known. You can see the exact process in the pictures below and I just hope I will be able to create the same result at home as after Mattia did it.

I am now so excited to try all the different looks that this haircut allows me to do. I'm going to try and style it differently after every wash - straight, curly, beach waves, side parting, middle parting, etc.

I had this hair for two days now and still every time I see my reflection in the mirror I'm excited! Don't know why I doubted and hesitated about this change for so long. So if you guys are thinking about doing something similar, don't think twice, be brave and do it! In the end, it's only hair and it will always grow back!

My pampering at Toni&Guy didn't finish after the haircut so scroll down to continue reading.

After my cut I headed downstairs for a manicure at the same Toni&Guy Curzon Street salon. I decided to go for Shellac and chose the most gentle white/pink nail polish colour I could find. I prefer lighter colours for Shellac as it's less visible when your nails start to grow out and you can get away with it for a bit longer. Every time I have it done I wish that my nails would stay the same way and length forever. I also prefer Shellac to gel as gel can sometimes make your nails visibly thicker while Shellac looks like a normal nail polish and is absolutely healthy for the nail.

So now you guys know what I was so excited about whole last week and I hope you like my changes. By the way there are many more news that are coming soon. This was just the first step.

Talk to you soon,
Julia xx
